My friend said there was a special thing you download off the internet that allows you to download items automatically into the sims 1. I have the sims unleased (and hotdate) and I really want to get some new free items off the internet. I found a website where to get items, but once I download or “save” them to the computer they don’t show up in the sims….
With some items I can view the files of the items, is there any way to cut the items and paste them into the sims 1 (If yes, what folder would I paste them in)….

Before you download any items, make sure that the items you download are compatible with the expansion packs you have. Some downloadable items need certain games to function or display.
Once you download your items cut and paste the contents of what you have downloaded to the following directory (Assuming that you did a default install)

Hi there,
Well I hope that you uninstall it from the Control Panel- Add/Remove Programs. Usually that uninstalls it unless if in the uninstall wizard you somehow selected repair or some other option. Once the game is on your computer I don`t believe that you can change it`s location. If you uninstall and then re-install, you should be able to change the directory of where you can find your game. For instance most install wizards begin by asking if you agree or not with the User License. After that there should be a step where you are shown where the game is being installed. Usually it’s something along the lines of C:\windows\games\gameName or what ever. Next to this or below it there should be a button where it says “Change Dir” or just “Change”. Click on it and then type the name of the folder where you want to install the game. I usualy use C:\games\gameName. Once you do that click ok and if a pop up window appears saying “folder does not exist… Doyou whish to create it?” click yes or ok. Follow the rest of the installation process and you`re done.
