2 of Pushkar Kulkarni Skaters Selected to Represent India at World Championship- 2008 to be Held at Gijon / Spain
2 of pushkar Kulkarni (Coach Team INDIA) Skaters Miss Ankita Mahangade (Sr. Girls) and Miss. Pooja Parekh (Jr. Girls) have been selected to Represent INDIA at World Championship- 2008 to be held at Gijon / Spain from 4 – 12 September 2008.
In all 30 skaters from all over INDIA will be going in for the championship.
Details of the skaters are as follows:
ANKITA MAHANGADE is Student of Fergusson College. She is 4 TIMES NATIONAL INDIVIDUAL CHAMPION, & 9 TIMES STATE INDIVIDUAL CHAMPION. She has won 12 GOLD MEDALS AT NATIONAL LEVEL, 27 GOLD MEDALS AT STATE LEVEL & MORE THAN 100 GOLD MEDALS AT VARIOUS TOURNAMENTS.
POOJA PAREKH is Student of Dr. Shyamrao Kalmadi School. She is 1 TIMES NATIONAL INDIVIDUAL CHAMPION, & 7 TIMES STATE INDIVIDUAL CHAMPION. She has won VARIOUS medals at NATIONAL LEVEL, 22 GOLD MEDALS AT STATE LEVEL & MORE THAN 100 GOLD MEDALS AT VARIOUS TOURNAMENTS.

Roller Skating is an up coming game throughout the world in big way and in INDIA also. Roller Skating Event has been included in 2010 Common wealth games being conducted in CHINA. India has done well in the All Asian Roller Skating Championship and currently stands Overall Second in ASIA. It has also participates at World Championships.
Pune city has proud to have its skaters in the INDIAN team since 2000. Pune Skaters are doing very well at various State and National Championships and have a major share of medals with them. Pune is proud to have international medalist as a part of its Skating contingent, and some of the top skaters in INDIA are from PUNE.
